FVIR water heater debate
Went to a house today to find the 25 year old heater in the garage sitting directly on the floor.... and the flue liner is too low to change anything .....
the new heater can be raised about 8 inches on bricks but cannot be installed on a heater stand due to the height.....
I have heard pros and cons about this issue before and some plumbers in town claim that now with the new FVIR heaters they technically do not have to be raised up because they are already fire safe......
I normally just would install it on blocks if I could but this one is special and I am wondering what exactly is considered ok in difficult situations???
your thoughts please.
