How does your side work policy read, we are CA plumbing co

How does your "side work" policy read, we are CA plumbing co and need to add this to our company policies. I know that we need to gear it towards 2 different issues, taking work from our customers and also Friends/family side of things. Yesterday it was brought to my attention that our co would be held liable in the case of damage created by employee doing side work even if we received no$ and no company invoice exists, thats just messed up.
