Jury Duty
I am so sick of getting these. I get at least one a year.
I've had to sit through a trial twice. Both were really big cases locally 2 weeks long. One was an officer involved stabbing outside of a bar, and the other one was theft at our local CHP evidence room.
I had to take 2 weeks unpaid from work right before christmas on both of those. That friggin sucked. Now i'm in a situation where I cannot afford to turn away work if the phone rings.
I got another one right before Christmas this year and I almost cried, but it was cancelled. So now i've got another one less than 2 months later.
There are 30,000 people in this county. How is this even possible?
