Why are they so hard on stuff?

I have a dishwasher that's only a couple of months old. The kids have ripped the screws out of the formica for about the 6th or 7th time, and now the door latch on it is broken. WTF are they doing to this thing?

Nice way to start a Saturday morning I guess.

At least it's under warranty.
