In this asbestos?

I'm completely renovating / replacing the plumbing in a 1945 home, and I came across this white cloth wrap on some of the pipes. I've never seen anything quite like it, so I'm wondering if it might possibly be some asbestos cloth that the original plumbers wrapped on some of the pipes to prevent condensation?

Have any of you come across asbestos wrap in this form, or is it something else?
